The long-awaited regulatory framework for equity-based crowdfunding in the U.S had finally been released by the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) in October 2015 and the regulation became effective on May 16, 2016.

This new fundraising channel has the power to revolutionize the way startups and entrepreneurs think about early-stage financing. In this meeting, Lior Ostashinsky, Attorney and the founder and owner of Ostashinsky Lior Law Office, will talk about the main issues included in this regulation. Lior will also discuss the business and legal implications of running equity-based crowdfunding campaigns and the upside and downside of engaging in such campaigns. In addition, Lior will compare equity-based crowdfunding with rewards-based crowdfunding and VC funding.
